You might be here because...
Something in your relationship with- a partner, a parent, or yourself doesn't feel the way you want it to. Maybe it's quieter than a crisis. It's the sense that you keep having the same fight. That you shut down or get defensive right when you most want to stay open. That you're waiting to be truly heard, and it never quite lands.
You might notice:
-
You feel disconnected from your partner, or from yourself, even when things look fine from the outside
-
There's a pattern - you can see it, you just can't seem to stop it
-
A part of you believes you're not good enough, or not quite lovable, even when no one's said that out loud
-
You get defensive in arguments with your partner or family, even when you don't want to
-
You long to be truly seen and heard - and you're tired of feeling like you have to manage that alone
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not broken, and you're not too much. These patterns almost always make sense once we understand where they came from and they can change.
Where it started
So much of how we love, argue, and protect ourselves as adults was shaped long before we had any say in it - in the home we grew up in, the relationships we watched, and the ways we learned (or didn't learn) to get our needs met. Those early experiences don't just fade with time. They quietly become the lens we see our closest relationships through.
Together, we'll gently explore your childhood experiences — not to lay blame or dwell in the past, but to understand it. When you can see clearly how the past shaped the present, the patterns that once felt confusing or automatic start to make sense. And what makes sense can change.
This is often where the real, lasting change begins: connecting the dots between who you were then, and who you're becoming now.

Meet your therapist and counsellor:
If you're reading this page, you're probably trying to work out whether I'm the right person to talk to - so let me tell you a bit about how I work, and what's brought me here.
I'm Nikita - a psychotherapist and counsellor with almost a decade of clinical experience in trauma, relationships, and attachment-based work. I hold an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling and I'm a registered clinical member of PACFA. I work with adults, individually and as couples, in person in Geelong and online.
A lot of my work sits at the intersection of attachment, trauma, and connection: why we love the way we do, why conflict can bring out our most defended selves, and how the beliefs we formed early in life still quietly run the show in adulthood
Concerns we can help you with:
-
Relationship Therapy & Communication: Feeling truly heard by your partner starts with communication. Couple counselling helps you both find the words for what you feel and need, in a space that feels safe.
-
Conflict Resolution: We'll help you build practical tools to move through everyday conflict with more ease, more safety, and more understanding of each other.
-
Enhanced Intimacy: If distance has crept in, or you're hoping to reconnect to what once felt easy, online couple counselling can help you find your way back to each other.
-
Stress Management: Life asks a lot of us. Our online mental health support helps you find steadiness amid the pressures of work, family, and daily demands.
-
Trauma Therapy: Whether what happened was recent or long ago, you don't have to carry it the same way forever. With the right support, healing and new ways of coping are possible.
-
Grief and Loss: Loss can leave us feeling hollowed out. We offer gentle, compassionate support to help you grieve in your own time, while slowly finding your feet again.
-
Life Transitions: When life takes an unexpected turn, having someone alongside you can make the path feel a little less uncertain.

My approach is gentle, collaborative, and non-judgmental, rooted in compassion, curiosity, and genuine care. I believe therapy is most transformative when you feel truly, validated, and connected. Together, we create a space for you to explore, reflect, and heal at a pace that feels right for you.
My practice is trauma-informed and holistic, drawing on a broad range of evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique story and needs. You are welcome here exactly as you are, regardless of your age, gender, sex, race, or religion.
I am committed to creating a safe, secure, and inclusive space for your mental health and relationship, wherever you are in Australia.
